Seward maintains eleven public parks totaling 125 acres. Facilities include playground equipment, rest rooms, lighted tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields, softball diamonds, sand volleyball court, and horseshoe pits. Coordinating many of the Seward events is the Seward City Park and Recreation Department. Fast pitch, slow pitch, men's, women's, and youth baseball and softball games, parks and playgrounds can be found throughout Seward County for summer enjoyment.
Adjacent to Centennial Park in Seward are the Seward County Fairgrounds, which include the Seward County Ag Pavilion, grandstand and arena, newly built 4-H Center and new Livestock Center.
The Seward Youth Center has game tables, computer study areas, a snack bar, and various youth programs. The Lied Senior Center offers health and education programs as well as meals and other activities five days a week. Senior Centers located in Utica and Milford provide a wide range of services also. The Seward Civic Center has a 150-seat auditorium, meeting rooms, Seward Area Chamber of Commerce offices, and is home to the Langworthy Art Gallery.
Other Seward County recreation opportunities include bowling alleys, golf courses and community swimming pools. |
